Junior Varsity and Varsity Girls Basketball Secure A Couple of More Wins

The Belchertown High School Girl’s Basketball Teams enjoyed a couple of victories recently against South Hadley and Monson.
On January 26th, the junior varsity team defeated South Hadley. Catherine Anziano led the team with 8 points. Jessica Burke had 16 rebounds and 7 points. Jessica Karrasch did her part with 14 rebounds and 6 points. The final score was 51-29.
The girl’s varsity team won 52-41.
On January 28th, the junior varsity team beat Monson in a clincher 57-55. As in their match against South Hadley, Jessica Karrasch and Jessica Burke led in rebounds with 19 and 17 respectively and 13 points each. Down by four points, Karrasch was 5 for 7 at the foul line with under 2:00 left in the game. Amy Rumanowski added 10 points that included a three pointer in the last minute of the game.
With these victories, the girls junior varsity basketball team is now 12-0.
