The upcoming recall election became more interesting last week after Richard Barry, Eugenie Barry, Carlton Barry, and Robert Barry pulled nomination papers to run against incumbent James Barry.
All four Barrys live at 445 Michael Sears Road and are not related to James Barry.
Richard Barry formerly served on the Zoning Board of Appeals and the Economic Development and Industrial Corporation. It has been suggested that the Barrys pulled their papers to confuse voters on election day as a result of five candidates with "Barry" as a last name being on the ballot. Fifty-one signatures are required. Nomination papers are due tomorrow, March 29.
The Barrys phone number is unlisted, so Belchertown-News.com was not able to reach them for comment. Selectman James Barry said that he would not comment regarding this most recent development.
