Showcase Belchertown -- Now in its third year, this event will show-off the many and diverse businesses and community groups in our town. (Sponsored by BelchertownCAN!)
Car, Carriage and Tractor Show: The parking lot on the Common will be filled with vehicles that remind us of Belchertown's transportation heritage. Beautiful examples of the carriages and wagons that once graced Belchertown's roads harken back to our town's first important industry -- carriage making. On display will be the Historical Association's Concord coach and a one-horse shay that once belonged to the Champion family of West Springfield. Jim Chevalier of Belchertown will provide a variety of wagons, carriages, and hearses from his collection. To capture that old-time feeling, the folks from Blue Star Equiculture will provide wagon rides along Park Street.
Jim Beachell is organizing an array of tractors and old-time farm vehicles to be on display.
Tony Trifone and the Belchertown Cruisers will be present to bring the show into the 20th century with automobiles from different decades.
Reserve Your Table Under the Tent: Sit comfortably near the entertainment and out of the elements. There are a limited number of picnic tables under a tent that are available for reservation. Families, businesses, or other groups that would like to reserve one or more tables should contact the Town Clerk's office at 323-0281. Reservation fee is $30 for each table and will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. The tables have bench seats and can sit 6-8 people. Handicapped accessible tables are available. So get your family and friends together and reserve your picnic table now!
Quilt Show*: Time is running out to get your entry forms in for the Quilt Show on July 2. Quilts do not need to be made by you; they just need to reside in the same house as you do. Don't miss the opportunity to be a part of this 250th celebration with quilts. Contact Linda Sterling @ 323-9312 or Jane Crutchfield @ 283-4456. The quilts will not be judged--just enjoyed!
*Supported in part by a grant from the Belchertown Cultural Council.
