Ware Man Arraigned In Eastern Hampshire District Court For Possessing Child Porn

A Ware man was arraigned in Eastern Hampshire District Court in Belchertown today on a child pornography possession charge.
Christopher Boucher, 43, of 36 West Main St. Apt. 1, was charged with one count of possession of child pornography, a subsequent offense.
Judge Laurie McLeod imposed a bail of $2,500 cash/$25,000 surety.
Boucher is scheduled to return to Eastern Hampshire District Court on Feb. 29 for a probable cause hearing.
The Child Sexual Predator Task Force, led by Massachusetts State Police Sgt. Thomas Bakey, arrested Christopher Boucher on Jan. 30 at his West Main Street apartment after receiving information from MSP Sgt. Michael Hill of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Hill reported that child pornography was being traded on the internet via the “eMule” file sharing network on a computer at that address.
Bakey, together with members of the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office State Police Detective Unit, the Massachusetts State Police Crime Scene Services, and the State Police mobile computer forensic lab, arrived at the scene shortly after 5 p.m. to execute a search warrant.
Using the mobile lab, troopers assigned to the Digital Evidence and Multi-media Section located a video which had been downloaded from the internet on January 25, 2012. The video included images of a young girl, between 10 and 12 years of age, performing oral sex upon an adult male.
This video has been identified by law enforcement and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children as “known” child pornography, meaning that the young female being sexually abused in the video has been identified and her age confirmed to have been under the age of 18 when the video was made.
The suspect made statements admitting to the use of eMule to download the video. He had been previously convicted of possession of child pornography in 2001 in Federal District Court in Boston.
He has been classified as a Level 2 sex offender by the Sex Offender Registry Board.
