John B. Curry, III, died on November 16, 2010 at Holyoke Medical Center after a short illness. Born June 7, 1950, in Cambridge, MA son of Claire (Kelley) Curry of Chicopee and the late Jack B. Curry, Jr. John moved to Belchertown when he was 14 years old, he attended Belchertown High School, Deerfield Academy, John Hopkins University and Boston University of Law School.

John was a veteran of the US Army serving from 1971 to 1973. John had been an attorney in Belchertown for 34 years. He was well-known and loved in the Belchertown community and will be sadly missed by many.

Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife Doreen (Murphy) Curry, his son John S. Curry and his wife, Clara McComb all of Belchertown. He will also be missed by his brother Edward and his wife, Laura of Maryland; several cousins, nieces, nephews and many close friends.

It was felt by John’s family, that he would say to his friends and family as he said at his father’s funeral “hug the people you love, have a drink with your loved ones” and make a toast to John in his honor. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2:00 – 5:00p.m. at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to Toys for Tots or to the Children of fallen Veterans’ relief fund.
